Cole's 1st Birthday Party

Yes, my youngest boy will soon be one. Heartbreaking. Very. Heartbreaking. He did everything early. Got teeth early. Crawled early. Walked Early. (yes he is already walking and LOVES following his brother,Cam)



Long story but my cousin had a baby 5 days after Cole was born. My cousin wanted to do a combined birthday party, outside, in August, in New Market. Now, great idea. BUT all of my friends are in Cleveland and traveling is not in their blood. Sooo now we aren't doing a combined party and so that means that we can't be at each others parties because they are being held the same exact day at the same exact time but in two different locations. I am sure my cousin is disappointed as his wife and I were discussing this yesterday and he was still at work when we were talking.



But my biggest fear is pulling it off



I want to do a dessert table like Amy Atlas and the TomKat studio do. I think I have everything in place for it so far. Annie's Eats also had a great party for her little boy even though my theme is Bugs and Kisses (because Cole loves to give kisses and sissy calls him Bug!). I've got two friends who are going to help me get everything together for it that day and that will help too! Now it's just a waiting game!

The Beach

We had such a great time at the beach! Coley didn't act scared at all at the sand or the waves, which we were very surprised about (especially considering he doesn't like grass!). My phone decided to be stupid and didn't get half of the pictures I took and we went out later the 2nd night so most of them are in the dark but at least I got some!

Yes, we live in a coastal state but haven't gone to the beach yet. The chef has to work at another property but it also means his work is paying for the hotel room and for us to go out there!! and we even get a free meal out of the deal! We are super excited! Coley, of course, will be fun to watch but Cam is super excited. Now if only the 100 degree temps would decide to go away for a few days!

My Cam

I love My boys.
Don't get me wrong. Every parent says this but when you only get one of them for 10 weeks out of the year you truly love every minute you have with them. We went on an adventure last night and Cam always comes out with things that happen with his dad that he is unsure of. For instance, his dad and step-mom drink. Roger and I don't. Nothing against drinking at all. We both have just nothing that we do on a regular basis because we don't want to. But this adventure also brought out what he misses. He misses his brother Daniel (totally understandable, I would miss my sister if I didn't see her for 8 weeks) and he also misses living in Atlanta (which honestly I do too but I really doubt Roger wants to live there again).

I always feel too like I spend too much time with the baby or doing things for the baby when he's here like I am already planning the baby's first birthday party.

BUT all is well so far!

Wordless Wednesday

Flip Burger

Top Chef is a show that my husband and I have watched since it started airing. I, of course, had no clue that it even existed but he was really into it so I watched it with him. Well, when we were living in Atlanta, one of the chefs -- Richard Blais--on the show was from Atlanta. Cool. Awesome. We were newlyweds and didn't have much extra money to go out to eat at the time but we went his restaurant at the time, Home. We weren't impressed. It was okay but not anything special. Well, yesterday we went to his newest venture Flip Burger Boutique. This place was our kind of place. Not stuffy. Service was good. In an easy to find location -- which in the ATL means a whole lot!

The picture is of my burger which was the special of the day, Chicken Parmesan with Gremolata mayo, marinara, and micro basil. The Cokes were in glass bottles! The onion rings were VODKA battered. and yes, we got a shake too. Pineapple Upside Down. It even had cake in the bottom. Overall, we will be happy to go back again!!
